You might have questions about how to do social media better, when to send newsletters, what to even write. At the end of the day what you really want is to share your passion, influence others, and invite them to join your mission whether through volunteering, donating or advocating for you. You may think your issue is not knowing how to do those particular things well, when in reality, we dare to say the issue can lie below the surface.
Communications, also known as campaigns, social media, newsletters etc. to influence others, is hard work, but it’s even harder when you do not have clarity on what your overall message is and what you want to accomplish. This course seeks to walk you through some questions that will help you gain clarity on who you are and what you offer, which will then make it easier to create content for the right people you want to engage by being intentional in meeting them where they are in a consistent manner.
But communication is not only about strategy—it is also deeply connected to mission. As a ministry, communication is how you steward the message God has entrusted to you. It is a way of faithfully aligning your words and actions with the call He has placed on your work. When you speak, post, write, or invite, you are not simply filling space; you are carrying forward God’s mission and bearing witness to His story in the world.
After answering the 5 W’s we will walk through, you will create a communications plan that will be easy to follow, test, edit and repeat. The aim is that with a goal in mind, you will embark on a journey to develop a relationship with your audience within the sandlot of a clear identity.
As the Apostle Paul wrote: “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him” (Colossians 3:17). This verse reminds us that communication is not separate from your mission—it is part of living out your calling with clarity, consistency, and purpose.
