Different ways to understand the purpose of vision

Now that we have heard Neil’s explanation on the purpose of vision, let’s look at other ways the purpose can be explained.

Vision is like a rudder of a ship

A ship can sail without a rudder, but without a rudder, they move in different directions, they zigzag. But with a rudder, with a vision set, the ship moves forward. It focuses teamwork, connects and unifies people towards a common vision.

Now that we have heard Neil’s explanation on the purpose of vision, let’s look at other ways the purpose can be explained.

A vision is like a bridge

“All things are created twice. There is a mental (first) creation, and a physical (second) creation. The physical creation follows the mental, just as a building follows a blueprint.” –Stephen Covey

Vision pertains to the mental creation. It is the vision that leaders capture from the heart of God, relate that in a clear way so that it becomes the bridge between the present and the future.
