    Discover your values

Together with your team set aside focused time to discover and clearly articulate your organisational values using this process.

    1. Assess current values

Start by examining the existing culture and values within your organisation, if there are any that have been defined. Identify the core principles and beliefs that are already embedded in the organisation’s DNA.

    2. Involve team members

Next, gather input from team members at all levels to ensure a comprehensive understanding of their perspectives. Conduct surveys, focus groups, or workshops to encourage participation and gain insights into what they believe are important values for the organisation.

    3. Identify core themes

Analyse the data collected and identify common themes or recurring ideas that emerge. Look for values that align with the organisation’s purpose, mission, and long-term goals.

    4. Prioritise values

Narrow down the list of potential values by prioritising those that are most relevant, impactful, and unique to your organisation’s identity. Consider the values that will guide decision-making and behaviours throughout the organisation.

    5. Define each value

Clearly articulate each value by describing what it means in practical terms. Use language that is biblically informed, concise, memorable, and meaningful to team members. Ensure that the values are actionable and reflect the desired culture.

Once the values are defined, you can now communicate them widely and make them visible throughout the organisation. Reinforce the values through various channels, such as internal communications, training programs, and performance evaluations.
