    Key thoughts:

    • The four components of a giving circle are:
      • To create belonging
      • To open space for discourse
      • Trust (between members, leaders, and in the process)
      • Acting in abundance – Going beyond the dollars
    • Giving circles are so successful because they community-centric while also boosting the donors experience through their giving circle identity and network. It’s a form of social fundraising that builds community, connection, and opportunities for learning, which is what keeps donors engaged and committed to the cause without taxing the organisation.
    • Do not assume who can give and who cannot. Ask more, assume less, and you will be pleasantly surprised.
    • When building donor relationships, listen more than you talk. Be authentic and caring when connecting to donors. Show up as your full self, so your donors can, too.
    • When you engage with donors, remind them of their “why”, their mission and their values.
    • Create moments that your donors will remember.
