Before drafting or reviewing your next policy, pause and ask:
- Am I writing this only to meet legal requirements, or also to reflect Christ’s heart for His people?
- Does each section clearly show how we aim to love, protect, and serve those under our care?
- Have we built in ways to review and adapt this policy as God leads and circumstances change?
Remember, policies are more than ink on paper. They are a practical outworking of discipleship, shaping culture and behaviour in ways that protect the vulnerable, encourage excellence, and display integrity.
When done well, your policies will not only safeguard operations but also strengthen trust—both within your team and with those you serve. As Paul wrote, “Let everything be done decently and in order” (1 Corinthians 14:40). In this light, each section of your policy becomes a quiet but powerful act of worship and stewardship.
