Organisational DNA
- Mission is not just words – it is the life force of an organisation.
- DNA of an organisation = overlap of vision, mission, values, faith assumptions.
1. Vision
- Future picture of what success looks like (outcomes/results in 10–20 years).
- Inspired by Scripture (biblical pictures of the future).
2. Mission
- What God calls the community to do to achieve the vision.
- Defines purpose and boundaries: what we will and won’t do.
- Shapes strategies (the “how” to accomplish the mission).
3. Values
- Core beliefs shaping identity and decisions.
- Distinctive traits that define how people in the organisation live and act.
4. Faith Assumptions
- Theological foundations about God, people, and the mission.
- Examples:
- God cares about every culture hearing the gospel.
- People are made in God’s image and called to participate in His mission.
Overall: Vision, mission, values, and faith assumptions together form the unique life force (DNA) of an organisation.
