    Determining your value for partnership

Before we dive into the ‘Value of strategic partnership’ it is important to think about our own value. This simple “fill in the blank” activity is an opportunity for you to do some introspection and list what you think you can bring to a possible partnership. This is also an opportunity for you to think about what you’re really looking for from other organisations.

Take a few minutes to list your own reasons for entering a partnership – what are you bringing and what are you looking for*?

*Options could include access to and trust within new ministry fields; intellectual property or other content that complements the other’s ministry; strong administrative functions which your organisation lacks or where it has extra capacity; transferable expertise such as innovation, fundraising, social media skills, technology, change and/or risk management etc; a strong reputation that can build bridges to other partners and/or donors; leadership talent and capacity etc. You may of course find other areas where your organisation can add value for others, or where you have particular needs that a partner may be able to fill.
